hmm on the hf10, you sure it is in DV mode, and are you going
from the usb2 port or the dv/firewire out. you really need to go
out from the firewire out. another thing to try is try running it
through camtwist instead. you might get it working that way as a
device when it cannot see it any other way. I always check with
twitter in the morning so yes bit of a pain it is not there BUT i
think it is also a good wake up call to how we must build redudancy
into our social networks. I was chatting to a guy at the weekend
actually.. . . :)
But yeah, it's not a biggy - if someone wants to find/contact me
they will eventually. :)
The hf10 has no firewire which is part of the problem. I will
try running it through camtwist. Tried bearshand with no sucess.
And yea, redundancy or a distributed system for Twitter is going to
have to come.
i personally think either a little tray app installed on windows
or a mac would solve the problem. a p2p app using bittorrent
technology for sharing distributed messages to each other. i'm
still blown away that they do not have fall back versions of the
technology to be honest. Reason people do not leave thou is that
they were first, the community is there and it has a strange pull
about it too. I would talk about it more but i have more to do than
give twitter more SEO. :)
Canon is phasing out firewire altogether! Twitter is VHS to
Jaikus BetaMax. Jaiku is the better system but Twitter has the
numbers. Even if Google launch a hugely better Jaiku it will
struggle to close the gap.
really. phasing out firewire?! - i love firewire. oh progress
progress. .. . i still say the reason google swallowed up jaiku is
because they knew how awesome the team could scale stuff and wanted
to suppress them from making something so awesome that would make
google stuff look. .. well, pants. :) - i have always like jaiku
concept, i just loved twitter because it was first, it was home.
when it's home it is always hard to leave, my aura lives there.
